2017 Mar 1

Graceland University junior center Jeremy Deemer was named to the 2016-17 Academic All-America College Division Men's Basketball Team, as released by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Graceland University Head Men's Basketball Coach said, "We are proud of Jeremy and his accomplishments on and off the court. He continues to impress us with his energy and time management. Not many student-athletes can be this successful on the court and in the classroom while being heavily involved in the community and in other student activities around campus. Jeremy's energy and passion for others is endless."

Deemer, who is a committed student in the classroom, is double majoring in business and economics. Last month, he was named to the 2017 NABC Allstate Good Works team. He has helped guide the Yellowjackets to a 19-11 overall mark (16-10 Heart) this season, including Graceland's first NAIA DI Men's Basketball ranking in program history. Currently, Deemer leads the team boasting 13.2 ppg and 7.4 rpg. He holds seven double-doubles on the year.

The CoSIDA Academic All-America men's basketball team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. CoSIDA honors student athletes from the NAIA as well as NCAA Divison I, II, III who have earned at least a 3.3 GPA in the classroom and are of a sophomore status academically.
