Graceland University Men's Basketball's Jeremy Deemer Named All-American

Jeremy Deemer of Leon, IA, was named Honorable Mention All-American by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) for the 2018 NAIA Division I Men's Basketball All-America teams. Players were selected by the NAIA-Men's Basketball Coaches Association All-America Committee. Each team - first, second and third - consists of 10 individuals.

Deemer, a senior center, was second on the team in scoring, averaging 14.5 points/game and led the team in rebounds/game at 9.0. He was ranked nationally in the NAIA at second in offensive rebounds/game (3.68), second in field goal percentage (66.5 percent), and third in total rebounds (342). In his career, Deemer compiled 1,087 points, 664 rebounds, 43 steals, 38 blocks and 37 assists.

The Graceland University men's basketball team finished the year with a 29-10 overall record, winning its last 11 straight games, 12 of its last 13, and the Yellowjackets were 19-2 from Jan. 17 through the end of the season. The Jackets also claimed their first-ever Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament crown, made their first appearance at the national championship and won the program's first NAIA DI Men's Basketball National Championship.
