Jeremy Deemer Receives All-Conference Honors

2017 Mar 1

Graceland University Basketball's Jeremy Deemer of Leon, IA, earned First-Team All-Conference honors from the Heart of America Athletic Conference for his performance during the 2016-17 season.

Jeremy leads the team boasting 13.2 points per game and 7.4 rebounds per game, holding seven double-doubles on the year, and leads the team shooting 68.5 percent from the floor. In his career with the Jackets, he totals 526 points, 313 rebounds, 22 steals, 19 assists and 18 blocks. This season, he was named to the 2017 NABC Allstate Good Works team and CoSIDA Academic All-America Team.

"Jeremy has always been a standout in the classroom and, this year, he solidified himself as one of the best big men in the Heart of America Conference," said Graceland University Head Men's Basketball Coach, Craig Doty. "What most people don't see is how hard he works every day in practice. At 6'8," 250 lbs, he could easily ask for a day off or simply go less than 100 percent due to the wear and tear on his body each day. However, Jeremy battles through bumps and bruises and through soreness to maximize himself each day at practice. It has paid dividends for him in his development as he has become a dominating force in our league."
