Street and Smith's Tabs Jeremy Deemer as Preseason Honorable Mention All-American

2017 Oct 2

The 2017-18 Street & Smith's College Men's Basketball Yearbook has selected Graceland University senior center Jeremy Deemer of Leon, IA, as a preseason honorable mention All-American. Deemer was just one of 29 NAIA men's basketball players recognized by the publication.

Head Graceland University men's basketball coach Craig Doty said, "We appreciate the recognition of Jeremy as an honorable mention All-American by this organization. Jeremy was named honorable mention All-American by the NAIA as a junior last season as well as being honored at the NCAA Division I Final Four in Phoenix, Arizona, as one of the 10 NABC/Allstate Good Works team members for completing 450 hours of community service with a 4.0 GPA. He is the model NAIA student-athlete and we are proud of how he makes an impact on others every single day."

Deemer, a standout center, for Graceland helped the Yellowjackets finish last season with a 20-12 record including a 16-10 conference mark and the program's first NAIA Division I national ranking in program history. He averaged 12.6 points per game while shooting 67.7 percent from the floor. He pulled down a team high 230 rebounds, including 106 off the offensive glass. Following the 2016-17 season, Deemer was seventh nationally in offensive rebounds per game (3.13).
