Allstate Insurance Company, the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced Feb. 7 that Graceland University Men's Basketball junior center Jeremy Deemer is among the 20 student-athletes who have been named to the 2017 Allstate NABC and WBCA Good Works Teams.

Tirrell Brooks was named the Heart of America Athletic Conference Track Athlete of the Week Feb. 6. Brooks competed in four events for the Jackets the weekend of Feb. 4. He claimed a first place finish in the long jump, setting a new meet record with a leap of 6.85m. He followed with a second place finished in the high jump, with a height of 1.85 meters. Besides those two events, Brook placed sixth in the 60-meter dash (7.25) and 10th in the 200 meter (23.74).

Graceland University had five wrestlers named to the Heart All-Conference teams. The all-conference teams, selected by the league's coaches, were based on results in the round robin dual matches, which were completed prior to the Heart Championships on January 28.

After a 3-0 performance at the Heart Duals, Cartland Allen was named the Heart of America Athletic Conference Wrestler of the Week Jan. 30.

Kami Tabor qualified for and competed in her first NAIA National Championship at the 37th annual NAIA Women's Cross Country National Championships Saturday, Nov. 19, at North Farm Cross Country Course in Elsah, IL.

The Graceland University senior defender from Colorado Springs, CO, has started all 18 games this season for the Yellowjackets. He has compiled 20 shots, 11 of which were on target. As of Nov. 1, he is the second leading scorer on the team with four goals.

International Club offers students support and opportunities to share their cultures with the campus through events such as International Orientation, International Picnic, Coffee & Tea Talks, International Night, World Fair, Cultural Celebration and various other activities.

Latino Club offers students support and opportunities to share their cultures with the campus through various events such as Latin Nights at Choices, Salsa dance lessons, cultural presentations at the Cultural Celebration, participation in International Night and the World Fair, as well as other activities.

A team captain is more than just a title. They serve as leaders, role models and representatives for the rest of the team, both on and off the field or court. Their leadership and influence is fundamental to the team's success in all ways.

Graceland University offers nearly 50 clubs and organizations for students to get involved on campus. These students have stood out by offering their time and talent to the success and leadership of one or more club or organization during the 2015-16 school year.
