Graceland University

Communications Club became an official Graceland club at the start of the 2015-16 school year. The goal of the club is to offer students the opportunity to get involved in and gain experience from the involvement in a variety of forms of communication at Graceland - social media, graphic design, photography, videography, writing and web - while Graceland benefits from their ideas and efforts. Sixteen Graceland University students were named as award winners in the Department of Art Annual 2016 Juried Student Art Exhibition. The Graceland juried exhibition consists of artwork submitted by students in designated categories. It is judged by an individual or panel, according to certain measures. Graceland students entered nearly 150 works in one of three categories: two dimensional art, sculpture and graphic design. Read more here.

The Graceland University Distinguished Service Award is awarded to students from each division/school who have most enriched the Graceland community and have shown exemplary leadership through their superior skills, talents and dedication.

The Student Life Award is given to a graduating senior who has made significant contributions to multiple areas of the university community during their student experience. This award is recognition of qualities that include leadership, excellent academic record and respect by students, faculty and staff.

Graceland University offers the integration of student government and residence life, allowing student leaders to impact the entire campus community. Students elected as house council leaders become the members and decision makers in the student government organizations. The Graceland University Chapter of the Alpha Chi National College Honor Society inducted new members this April. Alpha Chi admits students from all academic disciplines. Membership is limited to the top 10 percent of an institution's juniors, seniors and graduate students. Invitation to membership comes only through an institutional chapter. Congratulations to these students on their hard work and achievement.

The newly elected students will take office at the start of the fall semester 2015, as an integral part of the vibrant Graceland University student leadership community. Students serving in GSG roles gain valuable leadership experience and become a respected voice for the Graceland student body.

Graceland University celebrates the graduation achievement of 500 graduates, hailing from 38 states and 11 countries. Graceland graduates were awarded 313 bachelor's degrees, 181 master's degrees, and the very first six Doctor of Nursing Practice degrees from Graceland at the 117th Annual Commencement Convocation held Sunday, May 18, 2014, on the Lamoni, Iowa, campus. Congratulations to all our Graceland Grads!

The Graceland University Distinguished Leadership Award is awarded to up to two students from each school who have most enriched the Graceland community and have shown exemplary leadership through their superior skills, talents and dedication.

Graceland University students elected to complete "Future Focus and the World of Work," an elective professional readiness course focusing on networking, resume development, interview preparation, the job search and other soft skills, including dressing for success and dining etiquette. Every student who completes this course has performed mock interviews, and completed a resume and LinkedIn profile.
